It's a stacked weekend in Southwest Florida. Disney's Descendants: The Musical takes the stage at The Belle Theatre in Cape Coral from Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10 — the exact same weekend Mom is finally supposed to put her feet up. If you have not figured out the plan yet, here is the simplest version that actually works: see the show, throw the party, let Mom relax.
We rent bounce houses, water slides, and party games to families across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda, Naples, Estero, and Bonita Springs — and this is the kind of weekend we live for. Below is the full Mother's Day weekend playbook for Lee, Collier, and Charlotte County families, including how to schedule the show, what to rent, and how to keep the kids entertained long enough for Mom to drink a full mimosa for once.
What Is Happening at The Belle Theatre This Weekend?
The Belle Theatre — located at 2708 Santa Barbara Blvd, Suite 135, Cape Coral — is a community youth-theatre venue tucked into the Veterans Plaza area, just south of Veterans Parkway. From May 8 through May 10, 2026, they are running Disney's Descendants: The Musical, with multiple showtimes across the three days. It is a youth-cast production, meaning your kids will be watching kids their own age perform — which is half the magic.
The Belle Theatre is one of those great small venues Cape Coral families forget about until someone reminds them. It seats a couple hundred people, the energy is intimate, and parking is easy compared to Barbara B. Mann or the Caloosa Sound Convention Center across the river.
Why Pair It with Mother's Day?
Because the timing is perfect. Sunday, May 10 is Mother's Day. The Belle Theatre has a Sunday matinee. That means you can do brunch at home, see a show with the kids, and come back to a yard already set up for an afternoon family hangout — without ever fighting for a 1:30 PM table at Cristof's, Lighthouse Waterfront, or any of the other booked-solid Mother's Day spots.
The Mother's Day Weekend Playbook for SWFL Families
Here is the schedule we have seen work over and over again with our Cape Coral and Fort Myers customers when there is a major event tied to a holiday weekend.
Friday, May 8 — Light Touch
Skip the school-night chaos. If you are going to see Descendants on Friday evening, keep dinner simple, get the kids to the theatre on time, and let Mom go to bed early. Save the energy for Sunday.
Saturday, May 9 — Setup & Soft Launch
This is your prep day. Coordinate the cousins coming in from Fort Myers or Estero, finalize the brunch menu, and confirm your bounce house delivery window with us. Saturday evening is also a great time to take a slow walk down Cape Harbour or grab dinner somewhere with a sunset view of the river.
Sunday, May 10 — The Main Event
The full plan, hour by hour, looks like this:
- ✅ 9:30 AM — Brunch at home. Mimosas, fruit, breakfast sandwiches, anything that does not require Mom to cook.
- ✅ 10:30 AM — SWFL Amusements arrives to deliver and set up your bounce house in the backyard.
- ✅ 12:00 PM — Sunday matinee of Descendants at The Belle Theatre.
- ✅ 2:30 PM — Show ends, head home, kids hit the bounce house at full speed.
- ✅ 3:00–6:00 PM — Mom on the patio with grandma. Kids wearing themselves out. Quiet, finally.
- ✅ 6:00 PM — SWFL Amusements picks up. Pizza arrives. Day is done.
What to Rent for a Mother's Day Weekend Backyard Party
The right rental for Mother's Day weekend depends on age range and yard size. Here is what we book most often for May parties in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.
For Mixed Age Groups (Toddlers + Elementary + Tweens)
Our Tiki Island Bounce House Combo ($399) is the workhorse for multi-generational parties. Bouncer, climbing wall, and slide all in one footprint — toddlers stay in the bounce area while older kids take the slide. The tropical theme also fits the Mother's Day pastel aesthetic surprisingly well.
If your guest list skews older (8 and up), the Pirate Ship Combo ($399) is a hit. Same combo footprint, more theme, plays directly into the Descendants villains-vibe the kids will be hyped about after the show.
For Hot SWFL Afternoons
By mid-May, Cape Coral afternoons regularly hit 88-92°F. A water element is not a luxury — it is the difference between "great party" and "everyone melted by 3 PM." The Double Splash Slide ($399) is our most-requested May rental for exactly this reason. Two lanes, two splash pools, zero waiting.
For Smaller Yards (Pelican, Cape Harbour, McGregor Corridor)
A lot of older Cape Coral neighborhoods like Pelican have tighter lot lines. The 14' x 14' Castle Bounce House ($199) fits where the combos cannot, and at $199 it is the easiest yes on the budget for a one-day Mother's Day party.
For Older Kids and Teens
If the older cousins are too cool for a bounce house, the 35' Double Lane Bungee Run ($399) and Pedestal Joust ($349) keep them busy. A Foam Machine add-on is also a sleeper hit for the 10-14 age bracket.
How Much Does a Mother's Day Bounce House Cost in Cape Coral?
For Mother's Day weekend 2026, expect to spend $199 for a basic bounce house, $299–$349 for a single-attraction premium unit, or $399 for a full combo or water slide, all for a 3-hour rental window. Delivery, setup, and pickup within our standard service area are included in those prices. We service all of Cape Coral, plus Fort Myers, Cape Coral neighborhoods, Estero, and Bonita Springs.
Local Tips: Getting In and Out of The Belle Theatre
Parking
Veterans Plaza shares parking with multiple businesses. On a Sunday matinee weekend, plan to arrive 20 minutes before showtime — the lot fills up faster than you would expect for a Cape Coral strip-center venue.
Driving from Fort Myers
Take the Veterans Memorial Pkwy bridge across the Caloosahatchee, head north on Santa Barbara Blvd. Easy 20-minute drive from McGregor or downtown Fort Myers. Avoid the Midpoint on Sunday afternoons if you can — it is the slowest crossing during peak family-event windows.
Pre-Show Snacks
The Belle Theatre is in a plaza with a handful of casual lunch spots. If your matinee is at 12, plan brunch at home before the show, not after — you want to come back to the bounce house, not detour for a sit-down meal.
Why Cape Coral Families Are Booking Mother's Day Weekend Now
Three reasons we are seeing Mother's Day weekend book up faster every year in SWFL:
- Restaurant brunches are sold out by the first week of May. If you have not booked Cristof's, Lighthouse, or any of the Cape Harbour spots by now, your odds are slim.
- School is winding down. Lee County schools wrap up the last week of May. Families are starting to host the "Mom + grandma + cousins" weekend gatherings before everyone scatters for summer travel.
- Hurricane season starts June 1. May is the last clean weather window before the rainy/storm pattern kicks in. Backyard parties are at peak demand right now.
Real Local Mother's Day Setups We Have Done
Burnt Store Marina — Three-Generation Brunch Party
Last May we set up a Tiki Island combo for a family in Burnt Store Marina. Grandma flew in from Ohio, Mom hosted, four grandkids ages 3 to 11. The bounce house ran from 11 AM to 4 PM with zero injuries and one very happy grandmother who got to actually sit and watch the kids without chasing them.
Cape Harbour — Compact Yard, Big Party
A Cape Harbour townhouse yard is not big, but the 14' Castle fit perfectly. Six kids, four hours, parents on the patio with cocktails. The neighbors came over for the second half.
Book Your Mother's Day Weekend Bounce House
If you are reading this on Thursday, May 7, you have about 72 hours until the kids come barreling in from Descendants ready to keep the energy going. We still have inventory for Sunday, May 10 — but the combo units and water slides are filling fast.
