Direct answer: SWFL Amusements, LLC is owned and operated by Gabriel Denny and Christopher Johnson, two Cape Coral dads who founded the company in 2023. Gabe is a retired U.S. Air Force Major and former Squadron Commander. Chris is a Cape Coral native and third-generation Southwest Florida land surveyor. Why We Started SWFL Amusements
It Began with a 4-Year-Old's Birthday Party
The spark was Chris's daughter's 4th birthday party. The rental was a hassle from start to finish — he paid a premium for a slide that wasn't worth close to what it cost, then ended up helping wrestle the thing into place himself. Not exactly the "dad relaxes while the kids bounce" experience the brochures promise.
It got us thinking: if families in Cape Coral and Fort Myers are paying real money for a backyard party, the bare minimum they should get is clean equipment, a fair price, and a crew that actually handles the setup. From One Bad Party to a Better Standard
We figured a kid's party shouldn't be a gamble. So in 2023, we got our start the practical way: we acquired the equipment and a handful of contracts from an established local rental operation whose owner was ready to step away, then rebuilt it to our standard. Meet Gabe
Gabe is the newer Floridian of the two. After 20 years in the U.S. Air Force — including two deployments and retiring as a Squadron Commander (Major) — he moved his family to Cape Coral in 2022. His two boys go to Lee County schools, and trying to track down a reliable party rental for them is, no kidding, how this whole thing got started.

Chris is Cape Coral through and through — born right here at Cape Coral Hospital and raised in the community he now serves. He's a land surveyor by trade, working with his family's company since high school, which has put him on job sites all across Lee, Charlotte, and Collier counties. Precision and showing up are how he's wired. He's also a girl dad, so he's logged plenty of hours making sure the fun actually holds up to a tough crowd.
That surveying background is a bigger deal than it might sound.
